You’re likely better off ransoming them for money at any major settlement. So while you may be tempted to convert them into your armed forces, doing so will take up slots which could be filled by more experienced soldiers. Just keep in mind that prisoners don’t count towards your party limit. At first they’ll just trudge along with you and your clan, but eventually you’ll have the option to go into the party tab and convert them over for free. But if they were listed as prisoners instead, it will take some time to break their will. That is unless after defeating the enemy, they immediately opted to join you. This option won’t be available right away. Of course there’s the other option: letting the prisoners join your party. You know, if that’s a thing that your clan likes to do. Named characters will obviously fetch a much higher price. Regular bandits and their ilk will only net you five Denars.
It’s worth noting that more valuable prisoners will ransom for a lot more. Each prisoner ransomed increases your Roguery and Trader skill lines. If you zoom all the way out you’ll see lots of cities, this is where you need to take them to. You just need to make sure you take them to a large enough settlement.
